The winner of the singing reality show Indian Idol 13, has been announced. Ayodhya’s Rishi Singh won the singing reality show. He had to beat Kolkota’s Debosmita Roy to take home the coveted trophy, along with the prize money of Rs 25 lakh. Among the top six contestants were Bidipta Chakraborty, Sonakshi Kar and Debosmita Roy from Kolkata, Chirag Kotwal from Jammu and Kashmir, and Shivam Singh from Vadodra. Rishi broke down after his name was announced as the winner.

“I still can’t believe that I won the Indian Idol 13 trophy,” he said in a statement. “The feeling is surreal! It was a dream come true moment for me when my name was announced as the winner of this season. It is a huge honour to be taking ahead the legacy of such a well-loved and prestigious show. I am grateful to the channel, the judges, and the entire team of Indian Idol for giving us such a wonderful platform to showcase our talent. I would also like to extend my gratitude to all my fans and viewers who have always supported me and voted for me to win this coveted title. Talking about his future plans, Rishi shared with Pinkvilla, “I am going to invest the prize money in my future music career because I am yet to learn a lot of things. I don’t have any formal music education. I have learned merely by observing musicians in Ayodhya. My future plans are that the music gurus I respect and admire, I would want to take formal training from them. “
Debosmita, who has been an audience favorite, said, “I can’t believe I had the opportunity to perform on such a huge platform in front of all the judges and special guests. It is a great achievement for me to see the smile and the pride in my parent’s eyes. When my name was announced as one of the finalists, it felt like I had already won the trophy.
