Helen Interview: Moving away from everyday things, when we see, in an interview of Arbaaz Khan’s The Invincibles series, Helen, who is called the dancing queen of her era, has made some special revelations.
Helen looked stunning as ever but was quite resistant to talking about her past. Arbaaz managed to make her feel comfortable. Because of which she was seen speaking very openly. Wherein she told about her early life, how she had to leave everything and come to India amid the political instability in Burma due to bombing by China.
After coming to India, she learned Manipuri dance at the age of 11. And became the best in this dance art. After that he never looked back…
I feel Arbaaz Khan should have talked to her more about her dance. In the film Intekaam, she did a lighthearted take on Cabaret Aa Jaan-e-Jaan, which was inspired by a club-floor performance at the Crazy Horse nightclub. Or why he described choreographer PL Raj as the toughest taskmaster.
Ironically, most of Helen’s songs are sung by Asha Bhosle, but Aa Jaan-e-Jaan was sung by the late Lata ji.
She talked about the song O Haseena Zulfon Wali from Teesri Manzil and how Sammy Kapoor was her favorite dance partner. But what about the second dance number like Piya Ab To Aaja? There was no discussion about this.
Helen talked about her experience as a dancer in her debut film Dev Anand-Nutan’s Baarish. Helen also mentioned the cuckoo. Talking about films, he told how his presence in Hindi film helped him in getting further work. But he did not tell that the career of fame Kuku before him ended as soon as he arrived.
Helen Interview With Arbaaz Khan
A big part of the conversation was, ahem, family ties like her marriage to Salim Khan, Arbaaz Khan’s father. It has to be admitted that Arbaaz handled it very wisely. There was no conflict between them when Helen talked about her love affair with Arbaaz’s father Salim Khan. She told how he and Salim Khan met and fell in love with each other. And because of her, Arbaaz’s mother must have suffered a lot. Also Read: ‘Priyanka Liked’ Junooniyatt, Reveals Ankit Gupta
The Yester-year actress Helen opened up about how she tiptoed around Salma during the initial days of her and Salim being together. “In the beginning, when I used to pass Bandstand and I would know Salma Khan would be standing on the balcony, I would duck down so that she wouldn’t see me and the car would be empty going past your house. I used to respect her so much,” she said.
Arbaaz handled Helen’s doubts in the best way. I think it was a unique kind of interview where the relationship between two people belonging to the same family which could have been a hindrance for the interview was turned into a wonderful conversation by Arbaaz’s wisdom. Where 2 people were talking openly without any prejudice and without judging each other. Also Read: Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh and Helen recreates Dil Chahta Hai Moment in Andaman; See Pics
The best turn of conversation came when Helen thanked Arbaaz and his entire family with folded hands. That his family accepted her as a member. And also gave her a chance to become a Khan.
