Disha Vakani has been missing from the tv screens for an extended time now. The actress was last seen back in 2016 in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She played the role of Dayaben and earned massive praises for the same. However, she left for a maternity break and never returned.
Disha has been associated with the show since its very inception from the year 2008. However, she has been missing from the show since September 2017. She was blessed with a baby girl in November and was on a maternity break after that. Even the producers are unsure about the actor’s return to the show from the past couple of years. Speaking about the possibility of Disha’s return, Producer Asit Kumarr Modi said, “I feel I should become Dayaben now. The question of her return has been going on for many years now. We are still waiting for her to come back and if she expresses her desire to quit, the show will go on with a new Daya. But, right now I don’t feel Daya’s return or Popatlal’s wedding is important. In the pandemic, there are more serious issues and I feel all those matters can wait.”
