Akshay Kumar might not be seen in Rowdy Rathore 2 as the producers Shabina Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have offered the film to Sidharth Malhotra.

Sidharth Malhotra, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming series, Indian Police Force, has reportedly been approached to play the lead in Rowdy Rathore 2.
Sidharth Malhotra To Play Lead In Rowdy Rathore 2 Replacing Akshay Kumar?
“Producer Shabina Khan has been trying to develop Rowdy Rathore 2 for a while now, but has been waiting for all factors to fall in place. She has finally managed to lock the core idea for RR2 and is in conversation stage with Sidharth Malhotra to play the role of a cop in this film,” a report in Pinkvilla cited a source close to the development as saying.
For the unversed, Sidharth is already essaying the role of a cop in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force. The actor is now considering whether he should play a cop in another film or just stick to Rohit Shetty’s universe for the time being.
The report added, “Sid too has shown interest, however, is still contemplating if he should play a cop role outside of the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe.”
According to the report, Rowdy Rathore 2 will be jointly produced by Shabina Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali along with a top production house. The makers are planning to get the film on floors by June 2023 and are finalizing the cast of the film. ”The talks are also on with a top director, who delivered a blockbuster last year, to be at the helm of affairs,” the report added. It is still unclear whether Akshay Kumar will be a part of Rowdy Rathore or not.
For the unversed, Rowdy Rathore released in 2012 and starred Akshay Kumar in a double role. The film also featured Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role and was directed by Prabhu Deva. The film became a big success at the box-office and also got good reviews from the critics.
