Raj Anadkat has quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In the span of 3-4 years, the actor garnered appreciation for his portrayal of ‘Tapu’ and became a household name.
Sony Sab’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is undeniably one of the most successful shows in the history of Indian Television. There have been multiple actors who quit the show along with other replacements. But TMKOC has managed to grab #1 position irrespective.
The popular sitcome is now all set to witness yet another exit from the show. The show, which has witnessed a few actors leaving it will now see yet another quit TMKOC family. Raj Anadkat aka Tapu is all set to bid adieu to the show and has already put down his papers. Yes, you read that right.
As most know, Raj plays the role of Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actor replaced Bhavya Gandhi in 2017 and has been ruling hearts ever since. As per fresh report in ETimes TV, Raj was contemplating over the decision of quitting the show for a while and he had even spoken to the production house. They had a chat about it. However, things did not reach a conclusion. Raj’s contract was also up for renewal and finally the production house and the actor decided not to extend it. They made a decision to leave the show. We also hear that the actor is expected to wrap up his shooting before Christmas.

Raj Anadkat has been a part of this show for almost 4 years, the young actor was reportedly unprofessional in his behavior. Earlier, the reports of the same made rounds in media. As per Koimoi, a source revealed, “The journey has been bittersweet with Raj. There have been multiple times that the team has tried to make amends with him but things aren’t working out anymore. Neither is he willing to stick for too long nor the cast and crew is keen on asking him to stay.”

Also, according to report by, Etimes, Raj is getting offers of web shows and a few other assignments as an actor. An another reason that being popped up is, Anadkat has refused to sign an undertaking which that he/she will not use any foul language (against trolls, appatently) or make a casteist/ religious remark that may hurt any sentiment. It sort of all began when in the wake of the Munmun Dutta controversy. The report states that Raj was the only member of the team who did not wilt under pressure to endorse that. Raj joined Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to play Tappu’s role and replaced Bhavya Gandhi. Raj Anankat replaced Bhavya Gandhi as the new Tapu in 2017.

Earlier this year, Raj had grabbed the headlines when the dating rumours of him and Mummun Dutta surfaced online.
