There was a scuffle with singer Sonu Nigam in Mumbai last night. In this whole incident, his close aide Rabbani Khan got hurt. The allegation of pushing is on the son of the MLA of Shiv Sena’s Uddhav faction. Against whom Sonu Nigam has lodged an FIR in Chembur police station. At the same time, the video of ‘Dhakka Mukki’ with the singer has also surfaced online. This whole controversy happened only after Sonu refused to take selfie.
Singer Sonu Nigam was manhandled and one of his aides was thrown off the stage allegedly when fans clamoured for selfies at a music festival in Mumbai last night. The incident took place at 11 pm in Chembur when Sonu Nigam was climbing down the stage after his live performance. His aide, who suffered minor injuries, received basic treatment at a hospital and was discharged.
“I fell on the steps after I was pushed. Rabbani (Khan) came to save me and was pushed from behind. He could have died. I filed a complaint because people must think about it when they force someone to take a selfie,” Mr Nigam told reporters.
A case has been filed for wrongful restraint and voluntarily causing hurt, police said. “The incident occurred when Sonu Nigam was leaving the stage after his live performance at the Chembur festival. He was stopped from behind by someone. When two people accompanying the singer tried to move him aside, the man pushed them down the steps. What Happened With Sonu Nigam?
Sonu Nigam was performing at the finale of the Chembur festival organized by MLA Prakash Phaterpekar on 20 February. Meanwhile, MLA’s son Swapnil Phaterpekar started misbehaving with Sonu’s manager Saira and asked them to leave the stage. When Sonu was coming down from the stage after performing, the MLA’s son asked for a selfie. Sonu straightway refused. In a fit of anger, Swapnil Phaterpekar first pushed Sonu Nigam’s bodyguard Hari and then pushed Sonu.
Rabbani Khan, son of Sonu Nigam’s maestro, was also present in this event. In this push, she fell down from the stage. Due to which she got hurt a lot. She was immediately taken to Zen Hospital in Chembur. It is a matter of relief that Sonu has not suffered any injury.
This case has been registered in Chembur police station. Mumbai Police’s DCP Hemraj Rajput said that following Sonu Nigam’s complaint, a case has been registered against Swapnil Faterpekar under sections 341, 337, 323 of the IPC.
