Gadar 2 Songs Controversy
However, there has been controversy surrounding the use of these iconic songs. Music composer Uttam Singh, who had created the music for the original “Gadar,” has accused the filmmakers of using his songs without permission in the sequel. He stated that there was no discussion or consideration for using his songs in “Gadar 2.” In an interview with Amar Ujala, Uttam Singh said, “I was not consulted for ‘Gadar 2.’ They have used my songs and music in the film without seeking my permission. I have no interest in working with anyone on this project. That’s why I haven’t spoken to Anil Sharma.'”
Uttam Singh has been a part of the Bollywood industry for over two decades, contributing to films like “Dil To Pagal Hai,” where he collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan on some of the film’s songs. He believes that not considering his music for “Gadar 2” will not have any significant impact on his career, and he made this clear.
Nevertheless, the director Anil Sharma, decided to go ahead and use two of Uttam Singh’s songs in the film. These songs have been included, and they have also started trending online.
In the midst of this controversy, “Gadar 2” had a spectacular start at the box office, breaking records from its very first day. Within just seven days, the film has grossed an impressive 283 Crore rupees. “Gadar 2” is on its way to entering the Rs 300 cr club soon.
