How time flies! Imran Khan and Genelia Deshmukh-starrer ‘ Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ completed 15 years on Tuesday. Taking a stroll down memory lane, Genelia took to Instagram and wrote, “15 years of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na… N I’m just glad I was and will always be Aditi.” She put this text on a video in which she is seen flashing her million-dollar smile as she enjoyed a scenic view from a balcony.
Helmed by Abbas Tyrewala, ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ aptly portrayed millennials and their relationships- from siblings’ bond to an oddball but relatable college gang. It was made under Aamir Khan Productions. Now, Genelia has expressed her gratitude to be part of the show. Also Read: Gadar 2 gets green signal from Defence Ministry, Ameesha Patel Calls Out Producer
“Every actor would want to have a film that’s celebrated and loved. My identity is attached to Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. I feel that’s the most special part because when people take you home, it makes it bigger than the box office success. The fact that I am still known as Aditi makes it very special. It also makes me proud.” she said.

“When the film was with Jhamu Sugandh, I got a call. I had screen-tested for the film. I was selected and they needed three months at a stretch to finish the shoot. This is when I was shooting down South and I couldn’t give dates. Hence, I couldn’t do it then. Nevertheless, I really liked the script and I wished to be a part of it.” Also Read: Ayesha Singh Clarifies She Will Work With Neil Bhatt Only If…
She further added: “1 ½ years later, I got a call and was asked if I can test for a film called Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. I didn’t know it was the same film that was with Jhamu Sugandh at one point. I went for the test. That is when I realized that they had seen my old screen test. Around 300-400 girls auditioned and then they went back to the older screen tests of those who had done well when it was with Jhamu Sugandh. They happened to see mine and that’s why I was called again. I screen-tested again.”
Marking the 15th anniversary of the film, Aamir Khan Productions dropped a video featuring memorable scenes and songs from the blockbuster.
“Unforgettable moments, laughter and tears! Celebrating 15 years of a film that was, and will always remain special. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na,” a post read on Instagram account of Aamir Khan Productions.

The film also starred Ayaz Khan. He essayed the role of Genelia’s fiance in the film. His character garnered a lot of hate as he slapped Genelia’s character Aditi in the film.
