The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri was granted Y category security by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Friday. He will be protected by CRPF during his stay and travel all over India. He is the 118th protectee under the CRPF. The Y category cover involves the deployment of four to five armed commandos in close proximity of the protectee.
“An assessment by the Intelligence Bureau has found that there is a threat to his life. Based on the inputs, Y category security has been provided to him across the country,” a home ministry official said. Also Read: Ananya Panday Wants Bollywood To Say NO To Remakes
The film is doing well at the box office and it has crossed ₹100 crore at the box office, stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi in lead roles. The film is getting a huge response from all the corners.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah praised the making of the movie that showcased the struggles and pain of Kashmiri Pandits, who had to leave Kashmir Valley in the 90s following attacks on them by Pakistan backed terrorists.
The film, which took an opening of 3.25 crores on the first day, has performed more than expected since then. If this continues, then this Vivek Agnihotri film will touch the Rs 300 crore mark in the next two weeks. The film has already collected 100 crores. Now the box office collection of the film’s 10th day has also come to the fore. Vivek Agnihotri’s film has got a lot of benefit from Sunday’s holiday. The Kashmir Files has collected 27 crores on the 10th day of its release. The film has entered the 150 crore club in the second week of its release. Talking about the total collection so far, the film has earned Rs 168 crore in 10 days. After Bahubali 2, The Kashmir Files is the only film that has collected 73 crores in the second week of release and it is a record in itself. Seeing the success of the film, the makers have decided to dub The Kashmir Files in four languages. It will be dubbed in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Prabhas and Pooja Hegde’s film Radhe Shyam, made in the budget of 350 crores in theaters with The Kashmir Files, was released but now it has been reduced to theaters only in South.
