We have seen so many actors in the film industry who come from different backgrounds and places just to be a part of the tinsel town. Had life not blossomed on the stars, they would have perhaps been busy with engineering and machines at a swanky corporate office. But destiny had something else in store for these masterminds.  Here are stars who ditched their engineering degree to be a part of Bollywood

R. Madhavan

The chocolate boy, who made his permanent place in our hearts with his romantic flick Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, is one of the most talented souls in Bollywood. The 3 idiots actor is opposite of his popular character.

He did his graduation in electronics and represented India as a cultural ambassador in Canada. He was also awarded Best NCC Cadet Maharashtra and trained with the British Army, the Royal Navy, and the Royal Air Force.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Sonu Sood

Sonu Sood got his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur. But, he moved to acting soon after his graduation and established himself as one of the most prominent actors in the industry.

Fawad Khan

Fawad Khan, who impressed us in ‘Kapoor And Sons’, had thought of becoming an Aeronautical engineer or a pilot. He holds a graduation degree in Telecom Engineering from the National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences, Lahore.

Ameesha Patel

Ameesha studied Bio-genetic engineering for almost two years, and then switched to Economics at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. After graduation, she started working as an economic analyst at Khandwala Securities Limited.

After returning to India, she joined Satyadev Dubey's theatre group and started acting in plays. From there, she moved on to modelling and acting in movies.

Akkineni Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna completed his Bachelor of Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy and M.S. in Automobile Engineering from Eastern Michigan University.

However, he pursued his interest in acting and became successful, after his debut in a lead role in a Telugu movie, Vikram in 1986.
