Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi reacted to Disha Vakani’s entry while introducing new Tarak Mehta aka Sachin Shroff in the show.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest-running and most-watched sitcoms on Indian television. The character of Daya aka Disha Vakani is undoubtedly one of the most famous characters and her unique acting skills, performing ‘Garba,’ talking to her mother over the phone, and cute camaraderie with husband Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) make her stand out. It’s been five years since Disha exited the show midway but the longingness among the audience to see Daya on the screen has never died down. There have been sequences in the show where it is hinted Disha will be back on the show, but when the episode aired, the viewers were yet again disappointed as it was another prank by Sundarlal on Jethalal. Earlier today, a press conference was held by the makers of the show to introduce actor Sachin Shroff as the new Taarak Mehta in the show. While Asit Modi welcomed Sachin onboard, he also obliged with media when asked about Daya ben’s character. Mr. Modi said, “Well, Daya is an unforgettable character. Even after her absence from the show since around four to five years, people still miss her and want her back. I pray to God for a miracle to happen and Disha Vakhani to return to the show. However, I’m aware of her personal responsibilities as she is a mother of two. Having said that, I want to promise the viewers that they will very soon see the new Daya Bhabhi”.

Meanwhile, Months after Shailesh Lodha’s exit from the show was evident, the producers are all set to introduce the new Taarak Mehta in the popular comedy show. Sachin Shroff will be playing the role of Taarak in the show. He was last seen in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.
Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma stars Dilip Joshi, Amit Bhatt, and others. The show has been entertaining the audiences for 14 years now and airs on SAB TV, Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm.
