Sonalee Kulkarni recalls a “surprising reaction” from a leading producer when she auditioned for a big Hindi musical show.
Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni was most recently seen in Amazon Original Series Bestsellers, is recognised for her incredible sense of modern fashion and rigorous workout regimes. The actress has worked in both Marathi and hindi films.
Sonalee made her debut with ‘Bakula Namdeo Ghotale’, for which she received the Zee Gaurav Puraskar award for best actress. As per reports in Hindustan Times, she was quoted saying, “I gave my audition and was just talking to the producer. She was pretty surprised that I could speak English and converse with her in an urban way. She said ‘I thought you were a vernacular, Marathi speaking girl’. Eventually, I took it as a compliment. I guess people had this notion that Marathi-speaking actors couldn’t be urban or glamourous for that matter. Last week, the ‘Mitwaa’ actress celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her beau Kunal Benodekar. To make the day more memorable, she married Kunal again, but this time in London. Clad in a white wedding gown and a mesh veil on her head, Sonalee looked every bit adorable. Her outfit had a beautiful floral lace detail that was extended to her waistline. Keeping her makeup as minimal as possible, she paired her dress with a simple teardrop necklace.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonalee is currently gearing up for Sanjay Jadhav’s upcoming Musical film ‘Tamasha Live’ with Sachit Patil and Pushkar Jog. The film is set to release in theatres on June 24th. Apart from this, she will be also seen in ‘Moghul Mardini Chhatrapati Tararani’, the project is based on one of the greatest epics of valour of the warrior queen Chhatrapati Tararani who fought with the Mughals, Nizamshahi, Aadilshahi, Qutubshahi, Dutch, British, Portuguese and Siddis at the same time.
