The release date of Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur-starrer Jersey stands postponed yet again. The actor confirmed the film being postponed to 2022.
As the Omicron cases are rising in the country every state has announced a different set of restrictions for the people. Tuesday, came as a big blow to the cinema lovers and Bollywood as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a Yellow alert in the state. As a result, theatres will be shut effective today.

Shahid took to his Twitter handle to confirm the news in the form of a note. The official statement can be read, “In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! Team Jersey!!”

While the makers are yet to decide on the film’s next release date, rumours about a digital release cannot be ruled out.
