CONTROVERSY AROUND NEW POSTER FOR BELL BOTTOM SONG MARJAAWAAN
Recently, the makers of Bell Bottom released the film’s first song Marjaawaan. While the song is being appreciated by many for its beautiful lyrics and cinematography, it also garnered its share of controversy. Netizens questioned the makers for copying the song’s poster from an Instagram influencer’s viral picture from Sri Lanka. In the poster, both Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor can be seen all smiles leaning out from a train’s door. While Akshay is seen standing outwards holding the door of the train, Vaani keeps one of her feet on the actor’s chest, holding the train’s door with both of her hands.
Instagram page Diet Sabya shared a collage with the latest poster of Bell Bottom juxtaposed with the viral picture of Instagram influencer Camille. “Matlab tacky bana do sab kuch (sic),” the photo caption read.
Bell Bottom is based on a true story of plane hijacks that shook India in the 80s. While Akshay plays the lead role in the film, Lara Dutta will be seen in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who was in power at that time. Huma Qureshi also plays a pivotal role in the film.
