Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night 2022: Ranveer Singh recalled his early days, when he did not have enough money to pay for his portfolio. Watch his speech here.
Ranveer Singh won several awards in 2022 for more reasons than one. The livewire of Bollywood, was bestowed with many accolades at various award ceremonies. Recently, Ranveer won big at Filmfare Middle East awards and his happiness knew no bounds. The actor also got a bit emotional while receiving the award. Ranveer shared a series of photos on his Instagram handle and penned a heartfelt note. The Cirkus actor felt honoured to be awarded in the presence of his parents – Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and Anju Bhavnani.
In a video from Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night 2022 (FFME 2022) that took place on Saturday, Ranveer Singh welled up and said, “Aapko yaad hai papa, barah saal pehle, mein koshish kar raha tha aur mein portfolio banane ja raha tha… socha apna calling card leke jayenge aur dikhayenge ki bhaiya mein hoon naya actor, please mujhe kaam do (remember papa, 12 years ago I was trying to get my portfolio made to take to people and ask them for work).” Also Read: Sreejita De Calls Tina Datta and Shalin Bhanot’s Love FAKE, Finds Priyanka Choudhary Genuine
He continued, “Portfolio ka quotation aaya ₹50,000… bola ke acha wala banayenge, bade photographer se banayenge. Meine bola papa ₹50,000 bohut expensive hai toh papa ne bola ‘fikar mat kar beta tera papa betha hai yahan pe’ (The portfolio would cost ₹50,000, which I thought was a lot, but my father asked me not to worry and said he will help me).”

“I promise I will continue to entertain till the end of my life. I am a miracle standing in front of you,” he said. Ranveer further dedicated his award to Aditya Chopra and added, “He took a chance on me when no one did and said I found my next Shah Rukh.” Also Read: Power Couple! Sharing a heartfelt note on IG, the actor wrote, “Superstar of the Decade! Thank you Filmfare Middle East for deeming my cinematic journey to be a glorious one. Honoured to receive this award in the presence of my parents & my screen idols (sic).”
Ranveer’s Upcoming Movies
On the professional front, Ranveer will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus. He will be seen alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Varun Sharma and Johnny Lever. The film is scheduled for release this Christmas.
The actor also has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Alia Bhatt, the film is directed by Karan Johar. It is all set for release in cinemas on April 28, 2023. The film also features Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
