Raju Srivastava had collapsed in August after a workout and never opened his eyes after that.
Now only memories are left of Raju Srivastava, who made the country laugh through his comedy. Raju died on 21 September (Wednesday) at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. Raju Srivastava, who specializes in the art of making crying laugh, was a heart patient for a long time and his treatment was going on.
Due to his untimely departure, his family and friends as well as the fans are very sad. Srivastava, who was always alert about work, used to be careless about his heart health many times. This negligence also became the reason for his heart attack.
His last rites took place at Kashmere Gate’s Nigambodh Ghat in New Delhi on the following day. Now, Raju Srivastava’s prayer meet will be held in Mumbai on Sunday (September 25) at ISCKON temple, Juhu. Reportedly, his wife is expected to fly to Mumbai on Saturday.
Raju was cremated in Delhi’s Nigambodh Ghat as per Hindu rituals on Thursday. His wife Shikha, their son Ayushmann were present there. They were joined by Sunil Pal and Ahsaan Qureshi, director Madhur Bhandarkar and singer Ram Shankar among many others who paid their last respects to Raju.
Last month, reports had claimed that Amitabh had sent a voice recording to Raju’s family and it was played for the comedian while he was still in coma. An India Today report had claimed the message was, “It’s enough Raju. Rise up Raju, and keep teaching us all to laugh.”
