Salman Khan’s Radhe was to release on the upcoming Eid-al Fitr, on May 13. due to the present scenario, the makers are getting to shift to subsequent Eid, i.e, Eid al-Adha in July, this year.
While things had finally started crawling back to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic and therefore the subsequent lockdown hit the state, things has gone back to face one. With record-breaking cases being recorded in Mumbai, and new lockdown and restrictions being implemented, Cinemas had to be shut again. This has pushed many films to an indefinite release, another time.
Among many awaited films was Salman Khan’s action-thriller Radhe, a genre that works well for the actor at the box office. As the actor appeared at the book launch of Kabir Bedi’s Memoir, he had responded about the fate of Radhe which was scheduled for a May 13 release. Salman had said if not this Eid, they’re going to postpone the release to Next Eid.
Radhe Release Date
This stirred a buzz if the film is going to be postponed to 2022. And now, a fresh report has clarified the miscommunication. A Pinkvilla report quoted an in depth source as, “The makers of Radhe are very keen to bring it on May 13, and however, given this scenario, releasing it in May seems unlikely. they’re going to reanalyse the on-ground scenario within the last week of April then announce the postponement plans of Radhe.”
It further clarified, “If they miss out on Eid weekend, next release date for Radhe is going to be the Bakri Eid weekend in July- That’s exactly what Salman meant when he said, ‘Yeh Eid Nai, Toh Agle Eid Par Ayenge”.
Despite the scenario, the makers are said to possess kept their options open for the May release. Otherwise, a July 16 release could also be another best choice, considering an extended weekend shall follow or the film may hit the theatres on Bakri Eid, i.e., July 19.
The source further added that if the cases fell drastically, which was highly unlikely, the film will begin with a decent campaign, since their marketing team was ready. The report also mentioned that the team would surely not go the OTT way since Salman has promised the same to the exhibitors.
