According to India Today, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in a village in Punjab’s Mansa district on Sunday, May 29. This comes a day after Punjab Police withdrew Moose Wala’s security, along with 423 others as part of the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s crackdown on VIP culture. .
After the incident, Sidhu Muse Wala was taken to the hospital in Mansa where he is undergoing treatment. Along with Sidhu, three people have been injured in the incident, who have also been admitted to the hospital. It is being said that the security of 424 people including Moose Wala was removed a day earlier. A day after the security was removed, he was attacked with a deadly attack.
To note, Sidhu Moose Wala had contested on behalf of Congress in the last assembly elections in Punjab. Moosewala was fielded against Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Vijay Singla from Mansa in Punjab. However, Sidhu had to face a heavy defeat in the elections. He was defeated by Singla by about 63,000 votes.

Born on June 17, 1993, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala belongs to the Moose Wala village in Mansa district. Moose Wala had a fan following running into millions and was popular for his rap.
Moose Wala held a degree in electrical engineering. He had learned music during his college days and had later moved to Canada.
Moose Wala was also known as one of the most controversial Punjabi singers, openly promoting gun culture, glorifying gangsters in provocative songs. His song ‘Jatti Jeonay Morh Di Bandook Wargi’, released in September 2019, kicked off a controversy over a reference to 18th century Sikh warrior Mai Bhago. He was accused of showing this Sikh warrior in a poor light. Moose Wala had later apologised.
