Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been named Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival chairperson. Before her, Deepika Padukone was the chairperson.
Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) announced Priyanka Chopra Jonas as the Chairperson today and also disclosed its plans for the coming year. Isha Ambani, who is one of the trustees of the board said the team is thrilled to have The Sky Is Pink actor on board. “I look forward to my dear friend Priyanka Chopra Jonas joining our team and leading the way for Jio MAMI to reach new heights. She is a multifaceted global artist and a force of nature, we are privileged to have her on board,” Ambani said.

The tentative dates of next edition of the festival are March 11 to March 15, 2022.
Jonas was nominated by MAMI’s Board of Trustees. Nita M Ambani is the Co-Chairperson and Anupama Chopra is the Festival Director for MAMI. Ajay Bijli, Anand G. Mahindra, Farhan Akhtar, Isha Ambani, Kabir Khan, Kaustubh Dhavse, Kiran Rao, Rana Daggubati, Riteish Deshmukh, Rohan Sippy, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vishal Bhardwaj and Zoya Akhtar are the other members.
Chopra Jonas took to Instagram to announce the news and wrote, “It is with that thought I am proud to take on a new role… as Chairperson of the Jio Mami Film Festival, India’s leading film festival. Working alongside an amazing team of like-minded individuals, we’re reimagining the festival with a new creative vision that is attuned to the radical changes the world has witnessed in the last two years. I’m very excited about this new chapter for the festival as well as for me.”
Chopra recently revealed that she will be seen in Farhan Aktar’s next road trip based film Jee Le Zaraa featuring alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
