Nia Sharma has said she was waiting to do an item song. Nia also revealed she did extreme workout, and stopped eating much to get in shape for her new item song ‘Phoonk Le’.
Nia Sharma says her latest track ‘Phoonk Le’ comes as the most awaited project for her as she was always willing to work in an item number.
She said: “I grew up watching item songs like ‘Chaiyaa Chayiaa’, ‘Chamma Chamma’, ‘Bidi Jalaile’, ‘Munni’ ,’Sheela ki Jawani’ and always swooned over how stunning all those women looked in the songs. I never knew I’d be the one getting an item number like ‘ Phoonk Le’ . Nia further shares on how she prepared herself to be featured in the dance number and adds: “I went to extreme levels where I worked out immensely, stopped eating much and gave it my all. I am nervous, I hope my audience likes it and gives all their love and support to this song. Earlier, Nia Sharma talked about her friends questioning her choice of lipsticks to making ‘naked’ public appearances. Reportedly in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Nia shared, “I was told, ‘Why do you use these weird lipsticks? It doesn’t look good. After all, you are from TV.’ Sharma further added how her bold avatar is recognised by her fellow fraternity members, “Why do you walk naked in award functions? The dance number ‘Phoonk Le’ has been released on January 10 on Saregama Music’s YouTube channel and other streaming OTT platforms.

Nia made her television debut in 2010 with ‘Kaali- Ek Agnipariksha.’ Sharma got fame from her breakthrough role of Manvi Chaudhary in ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ opposite Kushal Tandon, Krystle D’Souza. Nia was also seen opposite Ravi Dubey in T.V show ‘Jamai Raja,’ and the web show ‘Jamai 2.0’ (2019-21). The actress has also won ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi: Made In India’ (2020).
