Tejasswi Prakash talked about her character Kiara from Naagin 6 and revealed why her foreign accent was so different.
Bigg Boss 15 winner and actress Tejasswi Prakash is always making buzz, be it with her professional life, or her personal. She is playing the lead in Naagin 6, which is garnering a great viewership and manages to grab a spot in TOP 10 shows. While the show is now focusing on Pratha’s twin daughters, a few weeks back she was playing the central character only, who pretended to be a UK return NRI lookalike to seek revenge who did wrong to her. During this time, she used an accent, which many found funny and others criticised as fake. Now, the actress has opened up about it.
In a recent interview, Tejasswi addressed the criticism her ‘fake accent’ got from fans and said that it was deliberately supposed to be inaccurate. Speaking to YouTuber Janice Sequeira, Tejasswi mentioned that it was never supposed to be a legitimate accent. Tejasswi said, “I wasn’t following any accent, it wasn’t legitimate. I just wanted to make it sound extremely funny. And if people found it funny, that’s great. Whatever sells. In a time when there are such good things being made, with everything nice and it doesn’t work. My show is working even when not everything happening in it makes sense. You do it convincingly and it sells.” Also Read: PS 1 Hindi Trailer: The film narrates the tale of the greatest empire in the history of India – ‘The Chola Empire.’
Tejasswi also spoke about how it was Janhvi Kapoor who made it viral after she made a reel on it. “I loved her dedication. She directed the video herself with a friend and I loved how they performed it. They were so much better than me. It’s after she posted the video that people also started making Reels and it went viral.”
Meanwhile, talking about the work front, Tejasswi will soon make her film debut with Marathi movie Man Kasturi Re alongside actor Abhinay Berde. The film is slated to release on 4th November this year.
