Meezaan Jafri will be next seen in Priyadarshan’s ‘Hungama 2’. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about failing to leave mark with his debut film in bollywood.
Actor Meezaan Jafri is vying to impress audiences with his performance in the upcoming Priyadarshan comedy ‘Hungama 2’. Meezaan, who debuted with the intense Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Malaal, While the film turned out to be passable at the box office, the actor did not create enough buzz in the fraternity.
Talking about the same in an recent interview, Meezaan said he is grateful that people who watched the film very much appreciate him and his performance earned him Hungama 2. “I think, yes. Even though Malaal didn’t create much of a buzz, people who have seen the film have appreciated my performance. I am grateful for that, because how I performed was the reason that I got Hungama 2. Priyan sir (director Priyadarshan) has also liked my performance in Malaal, or else he would not have taken me in this movie. Today, Hungama 2 is creating a buzz and I’m happy with the response,” Meezaan told IANS.
Talking about Hungama 2 Meezaan told Mid-Day, “I remember Priyadarshan advising me not to copy anybody and that is what I have done.” The young star admitted that he was nervous about matching up to Paresh Rawal who aced his comic timing but said he tried his best.
On whether he tried to pick up things from father Meezaan Jaffrey who is acclaimed for his comedy in numerous Bollywood films while working on the film, Meezaan told the publication, “Priyadarshan’s films are situational comedy. I don’t think my father has done these kinds of films. If I get stuck somewhere, I always approach him, but he never gives me pointers about acting. He has always given me life lessons and that is of more value.”
Hungama 2 is Meezaan Jaffrey’s second film in Bollywood while it marks Shilpa Shetty’s comeback after a 14 years sabbatical. The film releases on Disney+ Hostar on 23 July.
