An Indian Air Force pilot was killed after a MiG-21 fighter crashed near Punjab’s Moga late on Thursday night. consistent with IAF officials, the aircraft was on a routine training sortie when the incident happened. The pilot was identified as IAF MCC Squadron leader Abhinav Choudhary. many on social media are mourning the death of Abhinav and offering condolences and strength to his family.
Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram stories and shared a photograph of Abhinav Choudhary and wrote, ‘Rest in peace, Sqn Ldr Abhinav Choudhary. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.’ Taking to social media, many paid tribute to him.

After the incident happened, Moga SP (HQ) Gurdeep Singh said, ‘Pilot was MCC squadron leader Abhinav Chaudhary. His body was found two kms faraway from the crash spot after an enquiry of 4 hours. The parachute was found open and SOS was also sent from his device but he had died by then.’
IAF tweetd about the crash. “There was an aircraft accident last night involving a Bison aircraft of IAF in the western sector. The pilot, Sqn Ldr Abhinav Choudhary, sustained fatal injuries…IAF condoles the tragic loss and stands firmly with the bereaved family,” it said.
The IAF added, “A Court of Inquiry (COI) has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident involving a Bison aircraft of IAF in the western sector.”
