Indian Idol 12: Shanmukhapriya responds to trolls who demanded her elimination

Indian Idol 12 is one among the most loved TV shows. it’s been making headlines everyday for multiple reasons. The contestants including Pawandeep Rajan, Sawai Bhatt, Shanmukhpriya among others have been winning hearts of the judges and viewers with their rocking performances. However, there are a few contestants who were highly criticized for their recent performances. Disappointed by their act, many demanded the makers of the show to eliminate these contestants. one of the contestants in question is Shanmukhapriya.

Shanmukhapriya, who is known for her exceptional operatic and yodelling skills has been receiving tons of hate on social media lately. In one of the newest episodes, a part of netizens slammed her rendition of Shravan Rathod’s Humko Sirf Tumse Pyaar Hai, and demanded her eviction. And now, in an interview with Yo! Vizag, Shanmukha skilled the criticism.

She said, ‘I came to know about the happenings only after a few of my well-wishers reached out to me. i tried to take the trolls with a pinch of salt.’ She further added that even the greatest of the artists within the likes of Jackson had to endure criticism. Shanmukha added that she loved singing and performing. ‘Going ahead, i will put in the best of my efforts to showcase my skills in the forthcoming rounds,’ said Shanmukha.

Her mother, Mrs Ratnamala further added that ‘Shanmukha is trying to experiment with genres. As far as the choice of songs cares, all the contestants in Indian Idol perform the tracks given to them by the showrunners. Despite receiving criticism, she has been fortunate to get double the love and affection from the viewers.’

Earlier, Indian Idol 12 host Aditya Narayan had also addressed trolling, saying the contestants are learning to receive and handle criticism at an early stage of their careers. “Accha hai. they’re getting to know the harsh reality of the world outside the reality show. As their fans grow, so will the critics. it’s inevitable,” he had said while reiterating that the show ‘is the no.1 reality show for 26 weeks running’. “Do i need to defend it?” he had asked.
