Completing a decade in television, how has the journey been?
Yes, 10 years has been a long time. I didn’t even realise when time flies, it still feels that it’s been just two-three years. It has not been a very smooth journey to be very honest. One cannot achieve everything that easily. We all work hard to reach there, I am working hard to achieve my goals, reach too. It has been a really beautiful journey, I have been really blessed to get work in the industry. Once the show goes off-air, the universe has been kind enough to bless me with another show, I haven’t waited long to get another show back. I have really lucky to get work in the industry.
Which is your favourite character?
I am enjoying playing Dhara, Pandya Store is extremely close to my heart and will always be. But my first show Saraswati Chandra and playing Kusum will always be my favourite, that’s where I started my career, that’s where I learnt what was acting, how TV functions so it is like how kids come to college and miss school. Saraswati Chandra has been my schooling. Also Read: Alia Bhatt’s Most Stylish Yet Easiest Hairdos That You Need To Try Next
What is that one memory that you always keep in your heart?
The days that I have cried in my make-up room, I didn’t know how to act and all of them used to have a headache because of me. They all used to be ‘Shiny please kar le’ I used to get scolded all the time and when that happens even if you act strong somewhere you want to cry so I used to go to my makeup room, cry it out and gather myself and come outside for the next shot.
That was how I used actually motivate myself to work. When I shot the pilot for Saraswati Chandra I had called the makers and told ‘I won’t be able to do this. Shooting the pilot was only difficult and the show went on air after one whole year.
