WANTED- EID 2009
A Salman Khan starrer, the official remake of the Telugu film Pokiri was directed by Prabhu Deva. Released on Sep 18, 2009, the action-thriller was the second highest-grossing movie of the year. The fil collected Rs 60 crore.
DABANGG- EID 2010
Abhinav Kashyap’s blockbuster starring Salman as fearless cop Chulbul Pandey released on Sep 10, 2010. The action-comedy flick was a humongous success with a budget of Rs 300 million and marketed at Rs 120 million. The highest-grossing of the year marked the debut of Sonakshi Sinha in Bollywood and won the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
BODYGUARD – EID 2011
Remake of Malayalam film Bodyguard, the film was released on Eid on August 31 starring Salman within the role of Lovely Singh, a bodyguard. The romantic-action film was a serious success and went on to become the very best opener of all time across India. Bodyguard earned over Rs 148 crore at the box office, globally.
EK THA TIGER (2012)
In Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan played an spy. High on action, the film is directed by Kabir Khan and also stars Katrina Kaif. It made new records for any Salman Khan films and crossed Rs 300 crore mark. Its overall collection was over Rs 334 crore.
In Kick, we see Salman Khan within the role of a robber. Randeep Hooda plays the cop within the heist film, which also stars Jacqueline Fernandes and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles. Kick earned over Rs 388 crore at the box office, globally.
BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN – EID 2015
In the comedy-drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan directed by Kabir Khan, Salman plays the titular character of Pawan Kumar, a fanatical devotee of Lord Hanuman. He embarks upon a journey to assist a touch girl reunite together with her family living in Pakistan. The film was both critically acclaimed and a billboard success which collected around Rs 969 crore.
Sultan may be a wrestling dram starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film also stars Amit Sadh. It managed to earn a big number with a set of Rs 614 crore, globally.
While Tubelight disappointed many, it managed to earn good at the box office. It crossed Rs 200 crore mark. However, for a Salman Khan film this number wasn’t enough. Also starring Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu, and Matin Rey Tangu, the film earned Rs 211 crore.
RACE 3 (2018)
Race 3 boasts of an ensemble cast helmed by Remo D’souza. The film received negative reviews from the critics, however, it managed to earn Rs 305 crore. Race 3 stars Salman Khan with Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandes, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem.
Bharat marks Salman Khan’s another collaboration with director Ali Abbas Zafar after Sultan. Starring Salman Khan, Sunil Grover, Katrina Kaif, and Disha Patani, Bharat earned Rs 325 crores, worldwide. However, it received negative reviews from the film critics.
