After receiving hate for sharing pictures of herself while posing amid uprooted trees, Deepika Singh said that she doesn’t regret anything. Read on!
A few days ago, cyclone Tauktae created havoc within the city. Celebs urged everyone to remain indoors. However, Deepika Singh Goyal, who is popularly known for playing the role of Sandhya in Diya Aur Baati Hum took to Instagram and shared a series of photos and a video of herself dancing and posing amid uprooted trees. The actress was trolled left, right and centre for doing so.
When questioned about the videos and posts, Deepika told ETimes on Thursday, “I haven’t seen any hate comments on my post. 99 percent of the comments I’ve received are positive. Rest 1 percent bad comments are on all the posts, even on my traditional dance posts.”
Talking about stepping within the rain that lashed Mumbai after Cyclone Tauktae hit the town, Deepika said, “The cyclone indeed was very scary and my heart goes out to all those affected and my only aim is to plant as many trees as I can. i will be able to not stop spreading positivity, and this is for my well-being and happiness. I don’t regret it but, i would definitely request the audience to not step out in the rain, this area is right outside my house. Therefore, I stepped out for five minutes.”
In her first post, Deepika is seen posing atop a tree branch. She had captioned the pictures as, “You can’t calm the storm, so stop trying. What you can do is calm yourself, embrace the nature and it’s gloomy moods because the storm will pass..Ps: This tree fell right outside my house nobody got hurt, but while putting it away from my door, Rohit and I managed to take few pictures to remember the #cyclonetauktae ! #staysafe #stayhome #fullmadness.(sic)”
While the photographs are largely liked by her fans and that they have responded with heart and fire emojis, a couple of people thought it had been insensitive of the artiste to post such pictures since the cyclone has wreaked havoc in a number of people’s lives by flooding their homes and destroying their property.
“Don’t promote these sorts of videos…. it had been not good to be outside…” wrote a user on Instagram under her video post, while another person stated, “(You are at the freedom to post these things) because the roof of your house is not damaged.” “Don’t you think you’re setting a wrong example here? The tree is fallen and you have gone out just to click a picture? Don’t you think that it’s stupidity?” read another comment. One Instagrammer even advised Deepika to wear a mask.
