IPL 2021 New Teams: Manchester United owners and the Bollywood star couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh could team-up to own a franchise in upcoming edition of IPL.
Bollywood’s power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are planning an interesting investment. If media reports are to be believed then the couple will soon foray into cricket.
According to a report on Outlookindia.com, Deepika–Ranveer will be bidding for a team in the Indian Premier League. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the addition of two new Indian Premier League (IPL) teams in 2022 and Ranveer-Deepika seem to be the potential buyers.
IPL and Bollywood have had a long standing relationship. Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla own the popular Kolkata Knight Riders team while Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty had initially invested in the Rajasthan Royals and Preity Zinta is a co-owner of Punjab Kings.
Interestingly, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s next movie is also all about cricket. Kabir Khan directed ’83 will see Ranveer step into the shoes of Kapil Dev and Deepika essays his wife Romi Bhatia.
After several delays,’83 is slated for release during Christmas this year. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Apart from Ranveer and Deepika, ’83 also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu, Saqib Saleem, Boman Irani and many others. Also Read-REVEALED!
