The magic of South Indian Movies has overshadowed Bollywood’s flop movies and has left a lasting impact on the audience. These 5 blockbuster films stand as evidence of their ability to achieve significant earnings despite being made on a low budget.
South Indian Movies have cast a magical spell on the hearts of Indian audiences, especially when Bollywood has struggled with several flop movies. Among the recent Bollywood releases from 2022 to 2023, films like “Koi Bhi Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan,” “Shehzada,” and “IB 71” failed to make an impact at the box office. In contrast, South Indian Movies have been making a mark, evident from the box office collections of superstar Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej’s recent releases, which have grossed over 100 crores worldwide. Meanwhile, “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,” starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, is gradually picking up pace at the box office. 5 South Indian Movies Turned Blockbusters
The film “Kantara,” released on 30th September, directed by Rishabh Shetty, was made with a budget of 16 crores but went on to earn over 400 crores. Similarly, “Virupaksha,” released on 21st April 2023, with a budget of just 30 crores, managed to rake in a whopping 103 crores at the box office, featuring Sai Dharam Tej in a crucial role.
The third film, “Dusra,” released on 30th March of the same year, starred South superstar Nani and Keerthi Suresh in lead roles. With a budget of 65 crores, this film went on to earn 117.15 crores.
The fourth film, “Valetar Veerayya,” starring Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja, was released on 12th January 2023. This film, made on a budget of 140 crores, managed to collect 225.70 crores at the box office.
