Days after “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” actor Munmun Dutta was booked for using a casteist slur in her latest YouTube video, “Om Shanti Om” actress Yuvika Chaudhary has now come under scanner for the same.
After Munmun Dutta, netizens have now slammed Yuvika Choudhary for using a casteist slur. during a vlog posted by her, the actor had used a term by saying ‘she looks like them’ which didn’t go well with people on the internet. Soon after ‘Arrest Yuvika Choudhary’ started trending on Twitter and other people slammed the actor left right and centre. However, Yuvika took to her Instagram story and issued an apology stating she didn’t know the meaning.
While sharing the video, one of the tweeters wrote, “Now she’ll say she didn’t know the meaning. Alright. this is how our industry is! Not shocked but disappointed. She is literate but as illiterate #ArrestYuvikaChoudhary #Casteist_Termite #munmunduttavideo @yuvikachoudhary.”
While apologising, Yuvika stated, “Hi guys, I didn’t know the meaning of that word that I used in my last vlog. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and i can never do this to hurt someone. I apologise to each and everyone, I hope you understand. Love you all.”
Her apology also didn’t go well with the netizens and that they still demanded her arrest. one of the users tweeted, “We don’t want your apology. Yuvika Chaudhary, you have committed an offence under section 153A of IPC which is a cognizable & non-bailable offence & that you must be and will be arrested. #ArrestYuvikaChoudhary.”
Yuvika met Prince during “Bigg Boss 9”, and after dating each other for a while, they got married in October 2018.
Yuvika has featured in films like “Om Shanti Om”, “Naughty @ 40”, “The Shaukeens” and “Veerey Ki Wedding”. “Bigg Boss” and “Nach Baliye” apart, she has also featured within the television reality show “Box Cricket League 2”.
Earlier this month, A hashtag demanding the arrest of television actress Munmun Dutta started trending on Twitter after she used what netizens said was a casteist slur in her latest YouTube video. Munmun, best known for her role of Babita in “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah”, soon issued an apology.
Dutta has been booked under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The FIR was registered by a convener of National Alliance for Dalit Human Rights. The person also shared a compact disk with the video, which hurt the sentiments of the community.
