Several users questioned whether Dhillon intentionally intended to disrespect the flag by showcasing his shoes just ahead of Independence Day. This sentiment was echoed by others who expressed strong disappointment in his actions.

One user tweeted, “He is a popular Punjabi singer AP Dhillon. Just before 15 August, he is flaunting his shoes on Instagram. Check the colour of his shoes. Is he deliberately insulting our tricolour? Is he one of those Khalistan supporters like Sidhu Moosewala? I am not sure but I find this behaviour disgusting!!”
Another tweeted, “I don’t give a damn about celeb dating and all and their fashion sense but just for the sake of looking cool these kind of bAstards literally disrespects the national flag by putting the tricolour on his shoes.
