Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer Released Today
Rajinikanth, often addressed as the “Superstar” of the Indian film industry, has amassed a dedicated fan base that extends far beyond the boundaries of cinema. At the audio launch of ‘Jailer’, Rajinikanth took a stand against alcohol consumption, urging his admirers to abstain from drinking. Responding to this call, one fan shared, “On behalf of the Madurai district, we prayed for the success of ‘Jailer’. Rajini is trying to make his fans good. Accordingly, we have taken a pledge not to drink.”

Jailer has been released In theatres today, August 10, and several offices in Chennai and Bengaluru have announced the day off so that employees can go watch the film in the theatres on the first day of its release.

The opening day advance booking total for Rajinikanth’s film in India is a more than respectable Rs 8.43 crore. In contrast, the Friday release of Bhola Shankar, starring Telugu actor Chiranjeevi, had only sold tickets worth Rs 60 lakh overall. Even the critically acclaimed Bollywood film Gadar 2 struggles, with pre-sales for the first day barely shy of Rs 5 crore. Jailer has also made a strong impression abroad. Three days before its debut, Sacnilk stated that its first-day sales in the US had topped $500,000 (Rs 4.1 crore), and according to reports, it has already surpassed the total advance booking sales of Tamil hits like Varisu and Ponniyin Selvan 1.
Talking about the First day collection of Jailer, In India it is expected to be around Rs. 40 crores. The film’s overseas pre-sales are also robust, with the first day expected to be around USD 4 million. This will add up to Rs. 75 crores worldwide first day, with a good shot at Rs. 80 crores if there is any overperformance someplace.
