Kangana Ranaut receives the Padma Shri Awards from the honourable President of India.
Today marked a special day for the multi-talented actress Kangana Ranaut, as the actress just a few minutes ago received the Padma Shri Award. The ceremony that is currently held in Delhi at Rashtrapati Bhavan, had the actress being conferred with this fourth highest Indian civilian recognition by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
The 4 times National Award Winner was honoured with his award for her excellence in the field of arts- cinema. She is accompanied by her sister Rangoli Chandel for this prestigious ceremony.
This prestigious recognition was announced for the Manikarnika actress in January 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was pushed till the situation reached a manageable stage.
When the ministry announced this award, Kangana taking to Twitter wrote, “I’m humbled, and I’m honoured. I thank my country for this recognition and I dedicate this to every woman who dares to dream. To every daughter… to every mother… and to the dreams of women who will shape the future of our country.”Kangana draped a green-golden saree, styling her look with dangling earrings, she sported a braided bun for the ceremony.
As reported in Hindustan Times, the 4 times National Award Winner, on receiving Padma Shri Award said, “I have always been honoured as an artiste but this time, I have also been recognised as a citizen and for my awareness towards the country. This is special for me because you know that the industry always points fingers at me (laughs). This is also special for my family, because they feel that I am always targeted in the film industry, slapped with legal cases and involved in fights. My family is extremely happy.”
