Saif Ali Khan, who will soon be welcoming his second child with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, opens up about the importance of paternity leave. He also agrees one has to be in a privileged position to take time off work.
Saif Ali Khan is ready to become a father for the fourth time. He has two kids- daughter Sara Ali Khan and son Ibrahim Ali Khan- from his previous marriage to Amrita Singh. In 2016, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan welcomed their first child Taimur Ali Khan. Now, Saif and Kareena are awaiting the arrival of their second baby together, and Saif are going to be taking a paternity leave so he can spend time with the newborn. Latest reports stated that Saif and Kareena will be welcoming their second child next week.
Saif Ali Khan had taken paternity leave even back when Sara Ali Khan was born. He opened about the importance of taking paternity leave, while also accepting that it’s a privilege to be ready to take day off work. In an interview with Elle magazine, Saif said, “Who wants to work, once you have a newborn at home! If you don’t see your children growing up, you’re making a mistake. and that i can take day off from work—it’s a privileged position. instead of follow a 9-to-5 routine, I live like an actor. Your dharma and approach to everything are supported your career.”
Saif further said that his profession can become all-consuming and rather boring, which is why self-care and experiencing new things is vital. “My self-care involves wealthy for films, which involves doing everything right—eating healthy, sleeping well, being happy and mentally asleep,” he said. Talking about how lucky he feels to have a family, he said, “I’m an actor…and I’m loving it! I like being with my family, travelling the world, drinking wine and watching my kids. Touchwood!”
Just Yesterday, Kareena shared the cover of the magazine, featuring Saif, on Instagram and wrote, “The coolest husband ever.”
On a professional front, Saif Ali Khan was last seen in Amazon Prime series Tandav. He will next be seen in Om Raut’s Adipurush, starring Prabhas, and Bhoot Police, which also stars Arjun Kapoor, Yami Gautam, and Jacqueline Fernandez, the shooting for the Bhoot Police ismajorly done in Himachal.
